Bengt's Hellenic Mountain Race 2023
In early summer 2023, Bengt Stiller @bengtstillerphotography (photographer, experienced ultra distance cyclist, good friend and grammbassador since the first hour) rode the first edition of the Hellenic Mountain Race in Greece. The Hellenic Mountain Race is a fixed route, unsupported, single-stage cycling race through the harsh mountains of Greece.
Bengt rode his Allygn bike, our collaborative Fern Bicycles x Allygn Components x Gramm Tourpacking test bike and the third TIG welded Fern/Allygn frame. Flo of Fern Bicycles mainly build this bike as a prototype-test-platform, where we play around with new ways of framebuilding, testing new parts, components and new bag types. This is were Bengt comes into play, who is basically the perfect rider to test our rig!
For Bengt we made a lightweight touring and bikepacking set of bags which allows him to go all out on really challenging off-road rides. He is using also the Allygn Components front rack system (the Allygn Diamond rack) with super customized Diamond Bag (bigger and wider for lots of camera stuff), a bolted 1/3 Frame Bag, bolted Top Tube Bag and Dropper Seat bag 10 L. Luckily, the bike, the bags and the rider were in top condition and just ready in time for the race in May 2023.
